back in 2014, designboom first featured the work of persian photographer mohammad reza domiri ganji, whose hypnotizing images shone a light on iran’s incredibly rich history. since then, domiri has continued to journey around his native country and document its natural and architectural treasures. while his first explorations focused primarily on places of religious worship — highlighting their kaleidoscopic colors and rich ornamentation — the artist’s recent work extends to both urban and natural landscapes. photographs of city scenes, like men working in a carpet repair workshop, reveal a glimpse of everyday life, while an image of the badab-e surt natural springs shows iran’s stunning geographical terrain.
